SimpleForum Pro 4.6 Beta
A beta of SimpleForum Pro 4.6 has been put online here for testing purposes (so don't be fooled by the "powered by simpleforum 4.5" at the bottom ).
New features currently include:
image auto-resizing so they fit in the browser window
upload avatars (gif,jpg,png) from your local computer
admin can enable/disable avatar uploading
receive email notification upon receiving a private message (optional)
added a field in the profile that allows you to see what topic an online user is currently browsing
added IP to the list of infos the admin can get of his users
added rel="nofollow" to urls
fixed table backgrounds for explorer and firefox
fixed problems with special characters in names (applies only to new accounts)
dozens of minor bugfixes and some code cleaning
Some new features may be added later. Please report any bugs you may find in this beta or comments here.
Release date is expected to be within the first two weeks of July. Upgrades from previous versions of SimpleForum Pro are free and will be sent to you on release (as always).

More features added to 4.6 Beta to make avatar uploading for your users a bliss. Also check out the "Edit Profile" function in your profile on this forum to see how easy it really is!
Below is a picture of the new Admin menu called "Avatars". As you can see the image is resized not to distort the table structure on this forum, which is yet another new feature in 4.6. Click the image to open it in full size.

Edit: I see me, too!!
As you can see the [quoted] tag has been restyled. SimpleForum Pro now also supports nested [quoted] tags ([quoted]'s within [quoted]'s). Also the oringinal [quote] tag is now a synonym of the [quoted] tag.

Excellent, looks good so far. Can I just use this moment to reiterate my request for an extra point release listed at the bottom where it states "Powered by SimpleForum Pro #.#". Just for those of us forgetful ones..

The problem with that is that it isn't compatible with the current version-checking script (which notifies you in the admin area if your version is outdated). So really it isn't just a question of adding that extra number. I'll take a look at what can be done, though.

I love the new features! I'm especially happy with the e-mail notification option for private messages.
I'd like to request though, even though it's probably much too late to add the following in 4.6 already:
- a direct link to the new post from e-mail notifications, instead of to the first page of the topic
- page links at the top of the topic-page as well as the bottom
